Client: Land Transport Authority

Main Contractor: Taisei Corporation

27,000m2 of 1m and 1.2m thick diaphragm wall

This challenging project involves the construction of the diaphragm walls for the new Farrer Station along with a section of Cut and Cover tunnel in the middle of a busy 6 lane highway in a highly residential area. Having to keep all 6 lanes open meant juggling the working areas and operations in order to create a safe environment for the public, the road users and the construction staff. Additionally, with residences so close to the work site noise abatement measures were required and working hours limited to avoid disturbance to the local community.
