Bachy Soletanche were called in to take a quality core through fractured rock at the interface with Old Alluvium.
Following settlement on the surface and as a precuationary measure in a sensitive area with complex geology, the Main Contractor decided to undertake a horizontal core ahead of the tunnel drive. With none of the local SI contractors able to undertake the works, BSS were able to carry out the 21 long borehole over a weekend thus ensuring minimum disruption to the Main Contractor.
